More about the ICONS presentation next week...

The first half of the session will be a presentation by ICONS followed by an open discussion facilitated by WFencing.

ICONs has asked to prepare for our discussion by reviewing this presentation given by Dr Ross Tucker, a world renowned sports physiologist. He has been a very important voice in policies protecting athlete safety in competition and concussion at the highest levels of sport. He has also been very open about sharing the physiological differences between male and female athletes with governing boards around the world, explaining clearly the policy conflicts around fairness in the women's sports category. Since the time of this talk, yet another study has been released showing that even after 14+ years of testosterone suppression and estrogen, males retain a 20% strength and 20% cardiovascular advantage over women.”

Dr Ross Tucker: Biological Perspectives on Transgender Participation in Sport

Also for review, is a link to a 20 minute talk from a masters level athlete explaining why fair competition is so important to women at all ages and levels.

We look forward to constructive debate on this important topic.
